Obituary

Cecil G. Harris, age 90, of Olathe, Kansas, passed peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Cecil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by strength, wisdom, and a deep and abiding love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army from November 9, 1956 to January 24, 1958, carrying that sense of duty and honor with him throughout his life.

A pilot at heart, Cecil had a lifelong passion for airplanes, boats, and motorcycles. He found joy in sharing those passions with his family and friends, creating lasting memories and inspiring a sense of adventure in those around him.

Above all, Cecil loved his family deeply. He was a steady source of guidance, advice, and unwavering support. Whether through conversations, shared stories, or simply being present, he brought comfort and strength to those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie Harris; his children, Mark Harris (Carol), Tim McGhee (Tanya), Marie Harris, and Michelle Batignani (Devon); and many grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil W. Harris and Mary Mildred (Clemens) Harris, as well as his sons, Michael Harris and Matthew Harris.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who provided compassionate care and support during his final days. "Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23

A grave side service for Bud will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 1:00 P.M.
