Lloyd Dean “Buzz” Shiner, age 84 of Naturita, Colorado, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Warsaw, Missouri.

Buzz was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, on July 25, 1941, and was the oldest child of Lloyd and Inez Miles Shiner. He grew up in the Uintah Basin in Utah and had a fondness for hunting, fishing, camping, prospecting, shooting guns, and many other outdoor activities.

Buzz married the love of his life, Peggy Lyons Shiner, on March 24, 1965, in Wendover, Nevada. Together they raised a son, Lloyd Delbert Shiner, and a daughter, Sandy Shiner-Swanson. They are the proud grandparents of Amanda Rae Shiner.

Buzz graduated from Altamont High School, in Altamont, Utah, and later attended college at the Colorado School of Mines and Dixie College. He joined Interstate Electric in Salt Lake City where he started as an electrical apprentice. He later became a journeyman and a master electrician. Years later, he co-owned B & G Crane in the Uintah Basin and eventually moved on from there to be a Master Electrician for Washinton City in Southern Utah. After retiring from Washinton City, Buzz moved to Naturita, Colorado, where he spent his retirement years enjoying the outdoors with his friends and family.

Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Shiner and Inez Miles Shiner, son-in-law Kenton Paul Swanson, in-laws Benjamin and Georgia Lyons, brother-in-law Richard B. Lyons, and nephew Benjamin Lyons. He is survived by his wife Peggy, son Lloyd Delbert Shiner (Pamela), daughter Sandy Shiner-Swanson (Chris Morgan), granddaughter Amanda Rae Shiner, sisters Patricia Peaslee (John), Tammy Frandsen (Clay), Joy Hutchison-Zimmerman (Glenn), and Maurine Burdick (Keith), and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life in remembrance of Buzz will be held at a later date in Naturita, Colorado. An announcement will be forthcoming in the months ahead. Cremation arrangements are by Warsaw Funeral and Cremation.
