Rebecca Sue Sanders, age 75, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Sunday February 1, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1950, the daughter of Thayer S. “Chuck” Towsend and Mary I. Hethcoatt Towsend.

She was raised in the Kansas City area and was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School. She was a machinist for Puritan Bennett and lived most of her adult life in Independence, Missouri. She was a big fan of the Kansas City Royals.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Cyndie McNabb and a brother Tom Townsend.

She is survived by her daughter Gayle Houser, and her husband Chip, of Edgerton, Kansas, a son Wes Sanders, and his wife Stacy, of Anaheim, California, four grandchildren, Dani Mayes, Dalton Houser, Tyler Sanders, and Cameron Sanders, three great-grandchildren, Adam Houser, Ellie Houser and Katie Mayes, other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Warsaw Funeral and Cremation of Warsaw, Missouri.
